Epigenome data release

The KNIH launched the KES to establish a reference epigenome map for common complex diseases such as T2DM, obesity, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). To date, KES has released the first version of the Korea metabolic epigenome map in 2015 with 11 IHEC epigenome datasets from 33 assays. Released data initially consisted of WGBS, mRNA-seq, and miRNA-seq, while ChIP-Seq data will be added next year. Epigenome data was produced on cell types such as islet, beta, adipocyte, preadipocyte, podocyte from healthy and diseased (T2DM, Obesity, nephropathy) Korean individuals. The KNIH plan to keep releasing data annually to the wider scientific community to fulfill the goal of completing 50 full epigenome maps on metabolic disease-determining target cells. The datasets are publicly accessible at the IHEC Epigenome Data Portal (http://www.IHEC-epigenomes.org) and the KES website (http://152.99.75.168/KEP/).
