The KISED has collected information on sequences of 167,538 strains of influenza type A and 14,014 strains of influenza type B from the National Center for Biotechnology Information Influenza Virus Resource database as well as genetic information on viruses isolated in Korea. The KISED provides professionals and researchers with access to information on influenza viruses.
VSD (Virus Sequence Database)
The Pathogen Proteome Project is an immunoproteomic and bioinformatic approach to identifying target proteins for diagnosing and treating pathogens. Pathogenic protein information derived from bioinformatic and immunoproteomic analyses is stored in the the Pathogen Omics Database.
National Program on Rare Diseases
The helpline website provides patients with information (e.g. symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment, and special hospitals) on more than 1,000 kinds of rare diseases. The helpline service also provides online-counseling on medical expense aids.
We provide information on the Bioethics and Safety Act, which deals with guidelines for the management of involved institutions, including embryo and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) research institutes, fertility clinics, embryo research institutes, corporations performing genetic tests, gene therapy clinics, and institutional review boards (IRBs).
Gene Test Information
We provide proper information on gene tests (e.g. the guidelines on gene tests in the Bioethics and Safety Act) to prevent any bioethical problems involved in gene tests.
